Hi, I’m Josiah.
When I was 16, a friend hired me to proofread a book for him. After I had finished, he asked me to proofread it again—only this time, he’d pay me $5 for every error I found. That’s when I became a meticulous proofreader.
I honed my editing and writing skills in college, studying under teachers from MIT and Harvard University. When I found out that proofreading presented an opportunity to read full-time, I began pursuing it as a career.
Since then, I have proofread for clients such as Routledge, TED, the founders of BitTorrent, and the largest private collector of Warhols, and my writing has been featured in Forbes, Inc. Magazine, and the Harvard Summer Review.
People often ask about some of the most interesting projects I’ve worked on. Here are a few:
I wrote a report that turned a $3 billion company into a $2 billion company in 15 minutes.
I helped the cofounders of BitTorrent work out the expansion of the BitTorrent protocol.
I wrote a book on the history of specific shoe company; the book had a readership of approximately one: the private shoe magnate who commissioned it.
